      Narrator Carly Robins returns the listener to the boisterous Donovan clan. Marissa Barrett finds herself in a dangerous situation with her brother. So her boss, Patrick Donovan, proposes a marriage of convenience to protect her and to get his matchmaking mother off his back. Robins brings out the frustrations of both characters with their respective situations. Patrick comes from a large, close-knit family. Robins distinguishes each character when they all gather together or participate in a group text. She adds a touch of fear to her voice as the problems of Marissa's brother worsen.
